Agreement between Soluciones Sicnova / Novaindef and the Spanish Ministry of Defense

Spain’s Ministry of Defence has signed an agreement with Soluciones Sicnova and Novaindef (Sicnova’s defence division) to launch joint initiatives aimed at developing and implementing a digitalisation strategy designed to streamline the manufacture of prototypes and obsolescence-driven shortfalls within defence supply chains.

This collaboration seeks to strengthen the Armed Forces’ supply chain and logistics capabilities, enhance fleet operability and the availability of operational assets, and mitigate challenges associated with parts obsolescence. It also aims to extend component life cycles and introduce performance improvements through a design and additive manufacturing strategy enabling the on-demand development and production of parts, tools, and spare components.

By leveraging advanced 3D printing technologies, the need to maintain large physical inventories is significantly reduced, as parts can be produced on demand in response to immediate operational requirements.
